Forward Plans

Help 4 the Homeless (London and Home Counties) is ambitious to grow and expand but not to overstretch our limited resources. We need more help, more partners and more funding to address the escalating and urgent need.

Misinformation and misunderstanding of homelessness, its causes and challenges is all too prevalent. We hope to get big enough to help campaign for change at every level. Big picture solutions are around housing policy and who we are as a society in our allocation of resources and how they are shared.

But we also need to act now and urgently to meet escalating human needs. The growth in rough sleeping was 26% in the last year, partly as a pandemic rebound as temporary support was withdrawn, partly because of the energy and cost of living crisis.

2024-2025

  • To double current provision  (we currently help over 100 people on the streets of London every week) by adding a second evening.

  • To map needs across the Home Counties (where there is the most homelessness and least provision) and launch a service into at least one such area.

  • To double the amount of food we recycle and distribute on our Food Poverty Project from £1,000 per week to at least £2,000 per week and support at least 100 poor families throughout the year.

  • To launch our “Off the Street Project'' employing a project coordinator and volunteer mentors and to work with those that want and need our support to find accommodation, work opportunities and a better future and lifestyle.

  • To grow our core admin and resources to support expansion and to to do that as efficiently and cheaply as possible.

We need more help, more partners and more funding to address the escalating and urgent need.
